I know my heart does not and can not know the pain that your family is feeling now, yet I still greeve in knowing that my fellow brother in blue paid the ultimate the price. I knew not your name before this tragic incident, yet I will forever remember you in my heart for the HERO THAT YOU ARE!!
To his family, I know there are no words I can say to bring you comfort in your lose. If I may leave a scripture quote that I hope will: Mathew 5-9 'Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God'
Rest in peace my brother for you are 10-07
But you will forever be 10-08 watching over us.

Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice Tpr. LeCroy. You will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with your wife and children during this most difficult time. My prayers also go to each member of the Georgia State Patrol. Having a son who is a Trooper and a wife who served with GSP in the metro Atlanta area for years, we know the dangers faced each day while on patrol. God Bless

Georgia lost a fine Trooper when Tpr. 1st. Class Chad LeCroy lost his life in the line of duty. My sympathy and prayers go to his wife and children during this time of loss. Tpr. LeCroy died doing what God wanted him to do. Having a wife who is a retired Trooper here in Georgia and a son who is currently serving on the Georgia State Patrol I understand the risk taken daily when they leave to go to work. Pryares and condolences to the entire Georgia State Patrol.

To the family and friends of Trooper LeCroy, my heart and thoughts are heavy with the sadness of what you are going through. It still seems like yesterday that we got that same knock on our door. May you find some peace surrounding you in the outpouring of love. And know this...the GSP and others in law enforcement will ALWAYS be there for you, as they have us. His sacrifice will never be forgotten. God Bless.

In the mind of the animalistic, worthless criminal, taking the life of a peace officer is supposed to instill fear in those of us left behind to carry on the task. It has been my experience and holds true in this case, nothing more further from this could happen. These incidents strengthen my resolve to love my family more, train harder and lead my people better. All of this is done in an effort to take the freedom from those who try to make this world a worse place.

To just say I'm going to pray for the LeCroy family seems shallow, but in situations like this there's not much else I can say. I will make this promise, however, to the two boys who probably love their dad as much as I love mine. I will always remember the sacrifice your father made and try to repay it to you, your family, your dad's friends and coworkers with my actions everyday I pin on a badge.

It's not how he died which made him a hero, it was how he lived.

Godspeed.

Sheriff's Office
