Reflections for Police Officer John B. Maguire
Officer Maguire,
Although I have never met you or had the honor to serve next to you I wanted to say thank you for your unselfish service. I walk out the door knowing each day could be my last and I pledge to live my life for those who have given theirs. The citizens of Massachusetts have lost a great hero. As others run away you chose to protect and run toward the dangers. The world is safer because of your actions. God bless your family. We will all meet again in a place of peace. God reserves a special place for those who protect the defenseless.

The law enforcement community has indeed suffered a loss with the passing of John Maguire. My heartfelt condolences to Officer Maguire's family, friends, and fellow law enforcement professionals. I did not know Officer Maguire personally, but understand that he was a dedicated police professional and devoted family man. As law enforcement officers we are charged with providing for the safety and welfare of society. 'Jack' Maguire's life and unwavering service to the public should be a model to others.

I knew you as my neighbor - a welcoming neighbor to your backyard barbecues and refreshing swims in the pool. I knew you for a willing and helping hand - at any time. I know now how I took for granted seeing your car coming home in the morning after getting off of the night shift. Your backyard paradise was a far cry from what you saw on your shift.
I will never take for granted the uniforms I see . . . You paid the ultimate price. God keep Desiree, Bryan and Tara in His care. You will be greatly missed.

34 years on the job... What a true hero... On the streets responding to robbery calls, what an absolute hero!
The flip side is a suspect who has 3 life sentences and is on 'parole' for attempted murder, escape, and a few robberies... You've got to be kidding me.
Through the mix of emotions, my utmost respect, prayers and condolences go out to the family, friends, and police family of Officer Maguire. What a true inspiration.
