We are always aware that a tragedy like this could happen to us each time we put the uniform on and report for duty. Of the many many posts I have left on this site for complete strangers, I always seem to have trouble finding words when a post goes to someone I knew, worked with, trusted my life to, and called my friend. Your loss will resonate through this agency and our community for the ages. Your assailant cannot ever hurt anyone else ever again, but in taking the coward's way out he deprived us of both answers and satisfaction...as well as one of the finest deputies I've ever worked with.
