Reflections for Police Officer Michael Ronald Flisk
Officer Flisk, being a newly appointed police officer just over a year and a half ago, I wanted to reflect and say that you showed me and many others what courage is. You gave your life to serve and protect the city of Chicago. In the last few years , knowing and spending time with your family has been an honor. I will continue to police the neighborhoods of Chicago just as you did, courageously, and honorably. Rest easy, Officer Flisk.

Lord Jesus, as we watch America’s Peace Officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, Shot and Killed in the Line-of-Duty, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the peace officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.
Holy Scriptures on Law Enforcement’s Mission:
“For the policeman [peace officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [peace officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [the peace officer] will have you punished. He [the peace officer] is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.” [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]
[Jesus Said,] “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

Ive had the honor to work with officer Flisk's son on the fire department. Just from those interactions I can say officer Flisk was successful in his job as a parent and it is a refection of him as an honorable man.

I searched this page upon meeting a family relative in NYC for Saint Patrick's Day. Officer Flisk I want you to know that your relative told me your story through tears & great anguish because of your loss. I could not help but feel the sorrow shared with me even on such a joyous occasion. I want you to know that on this Earthly plane there are MANY that miss you no matter the days, years, or decades that pass. Thank you Sergeant for the mini shield #6962 I know he's patrolling Heaven.

Officer Flisk, I remember hearing about your murder in the news, and felling absouletly outraged. I can only hope and prey that the monster that took your life will never walk the streets of Chicago a free man. Officer Flisk, you are a true hero and will always be remembered. May you find peace in heaven with all you brothers and sisters in blue. God Bless you, and God Bless all the Men and Women of the Chicago Police Department. RIP.

We always knew how special you were, and now that you are gone it is even more clear what an important part you played in the dynamics of this family as a whole. Where once was a whole family now there is a hole. Our family misses you. what time we did have with you was cherished. We always went home laughing and talking about all the things we had just talked about, and then hearing Martys version. R.I.P
