My condolences to Officer Sirois' family, friends and co-workers on his untimely passing. He sounds like the kind of police officer all young officers should strive to be like -always willing to assist even when off duty and making the ultimate sacrifice to save another. I am sure he has received his reward in Heaven and is able to proudly rest in peace.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

I met Pat when we attended the academy together from Oct 2004-Aug 2005. We spent most of a year trying to learn what we needed to know to get our Texas peace officer licenses on little sleep, as we were all working full time jobs as well. Though he was the oldest cadet, he was in better shape than most everyone else. He motivated and inspired everyone to work hard to better themselves. He had a charisma and an energy that made an impression on everyone he ever met, no matter how brief the meeting. My mother learned of his passing, and she remembered him over 5 years later. She had only met him once at our graduation, and it was a brief meeting. He would never admit to being a hero. He would say he did what anyone would have done. I will forever live my life trying to live and work by his example. I hope that I can be even half the friend, officer, and person that Pat was.
We love and miss you, Pat. You have earned your rest after your service in the army and on the civilian side. Watch over your brothers and sisters in blue, and we will see you again on the other side. Goodbye for now superhero.

Pat, you were a dear friend and a great police officer. You always showed up to work with a smile and brightened up everyone who was around you. I remember the days we were working together and the first things we would ask is "What kind of trouble are we going to get in today?" Pat you are sorely missed, you knew my entire family. You were there for the birth of my nephew and my daughter. You were their "Police Papa". I know you were called to heaven because they needed a hero, but with that they left your shoes here that will never be able to be filled. You are and always will be one of a kind. The greatest person which makes me a better person for knowing you. I love you Pat and miss you but can not say goodbye, only I will see you later. EOW "822" 11/23/2010.

Pat, there is no way to put in words what you meant to me and everyone who knew you. You truely are a HERO!! I know you would not want to be called that because you loved what you did and loved your job. I miss you smile, and your funny personality, You always knew how to make me laugh when things were tough and hard. You taught me to stand strong and fight in what you want and believe in no matter what happens. I miss you coming into the office or calling me to tell me you were on your way in to work but you had to stop at dr office for an appt first because u either had to have brain surgrey or your eyes checked because you had the eye crossing disease lol and i would tell you whatever u r crazy and laugh all day about it. I miss the stories that you would tell or make up to get everyone laughing. Pat you did so much for everyone and me but that was you and I am very thankful to have worked with you and to have been a friend. You are truely missed and i know that you are in heaven watchin over us and keepin the streets safe up there but u are always with me and everyone else. You are MY ANGEL AND SUPERHERO FOREVER!!!. You are now the ANGEL OF THE STREETS.. Hold it down and continue to protect and serve HERO!. Your always in my heart and walking beside me pat. We love karen to and will be with her anytime she needs us RIP PAT
