The Greeley Tribune article by Mike Peters mentioned that Officer Brownlee was one of those who actively supported the Honor Flight program. I was on that flight in April with my father who is a WWII Veteran. I remember the terrible weather, the strong winds, the driving rain and most of all I remember the honor that was accorded to my dad and others along on that trip by officers like Sam Brownlee. I was in awe of what he and others did that day - and I will never forget it. I was in the lead bus that day and remember so many who along the way had stopped, come to attention and offered a salute. For Officer Brownlee I can only extend to his family my sincere thanks for a man of character and committment who went well beyond the call of duty and chose to exercise his committment and honor to those who came before him in their service to our Country. Now and forever these memories will be bound together. I will never forget what he did - not only on that day but in his service to us locally. Thanks is not enough - but for now it will have to do. He will be remembered forever in my heart and by my family. Gene Leach, Eaton.

Thankful friend

My prayers and thoughts are with officer Brownlee's family as well as those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. It doesn't seem right to thank you for your sacrifice, as it wasn't necessarily your choice, but please know that you have not been forgotten.

For all those who are serving actively, be safe and know that you are also being prayed for. Your service is appreciated!!! For your families, thank you for all you do to support your loved one who is serving the public. May you also know God's peace and blessing.

Sam was not only an exceptional Deputy he was a great man. Sam knew no strangers and treated everyone with respect. His legacy will live on in the deputies he trained and the hearts he touched. Deputy Chief Reams reminded us all,"We are the Good Guys and there is still work to be done."
