Reflections for Police Officer Ryan Patrick Bonaminio

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
Matthew 5:9

Your sacrifice, at the hand of a coward, honors you, your department, your chosen vocation, your service, family and friends, your community and the larger law enforcement community. I pray that your family, colleagues, friends and community continue to heal, remember and honor you.

Now the community and your department must deal with another cowardly act by a criminal resulting in the loss of one Riverside Officer and the serious wounding of another. My thoughts and prayers are with these most recent victims, their families and friends, the department and the community.

Continue to Rest in Peace - and welcome another Riverside hero in the next Life.

Rest in Peace Brother Bonaminio. The verdict was the correct one but the appeal system keeps him going. Sad
the system works this way. May God bless his family.

Thank you for your service. Your ultimate sacrifice hits home for me, being that I am a military police officer now and want to move on to the civilian sector soon. I will never forget the legacy you now leave us with. Justice has been served. R.I.P, Sir. "Never Forget"

Ryan, our prayers are with you, and your family, on a daily basis. My wife and I thank you for what you have given for your country, as well as your City. We do not forget what your family has given either. Recently, your father told my wife of your like of matched pen sets. I know you have a pen and pencil set with you in heaven and only wish you could send "notes" from heaven to your family as you reside in God's Eternal City. My wife and I will always be in your debt !Vern & Betty Locke

So deeply saddened by your story.. I'm going into law enforcement and this is a grim reminder of what awaits me in this world. I pray for your family my fellow brother. God bless you, your service will never be forgotten and WE are ALL forever grateful! By the way! A jury has just recommended the death penalty to your murderer. That scum will have his place in the valley of Hell. Much love Officer Bonaminio!

I am about the same age and experience as Ofc. Bonaminio was. When I saw this report two years ago, I hung it in my locker where it has been since then and will continue to be. I look at it every day before I go out on patrol to remind myself that there is no such thing as a routine stop or call. Anything can happen from what might start like a 'benign' incident.

Rest in peace, you will not be forgotten.

Here's another reason I support the death penalty. I don't care if it's more expensive than a life sentence or even if it deters future murders. If you murder someone, society has no use for you anymore. We should get to remove you.

I'll never forget this situation, especially. Ofc. Bonaminio was a true warrior and patriot in every sense of the word. I remember playing in Fairmount Park as a child...it will never be the same. Gone but not forgotten.

Why does God take from us such warriors when there is so much more work to be done?

I'll never understand it.
