Just like you, Ryan, I too was a Military Policeman and from knowing alone the mission you undertook you are still and always be a SPECIAL SPECIAL ( I cannnot say this word enough ) person. It is painfully hurtfull to hear of this happening to any one in law enforcement - civilian or military. I send you all of my prayers, salutes and respect. I also do the same for your family and MANY MANY ( I cant say that word enough either ) loved ones.
Thank you is not enough for what you have done.
Respectfully

It's heartbreaking to see another young police officer and veteran of our military service murdered by a cowardly career criminal on active parole. My thoughts and prayers go out to his proud parents who will undoubtedly have to wait years for our slow-moving judical system to provide the ultimate sentence if the suspect is found guilty of the henious police officer murder.

Ryan - Watching your family these past few tragic days, it is clear they are truly genuine, honorable people who raised a hero. We grieve for your parents who have lost a child - a hell no parent should ever endure; for your beat partners and all your buddies who will miss everything about you that was special and unique; and for all of us who will miss having you by our side fighting for what is good and right in this world. You were taken too soon and the unfairness of it all is staggering. RIP brother.

To the family, I am most sincerely sorry for your loss of your loved one. Working in the realm of law enforcement; as a probation staff, and including fire fighters, RPD, or sheriff's etc, I think we are all feeling the loss of a fallen friend. As a young child I remember going to Fairmount park feeling safe, and in these days Officer Bonaminio was there to keep the community safe. I am bothered by the fact that this young hero had to take the bullet for some lost person. However as the protectors of the people; it is in the call of our duties to do so. As we s up for the job we are aware of the dangers, but its the hope that keeps many going...the hope to protect and serve to the best of our ability. Thank you for protecting us, and God Bless. R.I.P

The word "sacrifice" is inadequate to describe the death of someone so young, with a limitless future in law enforcement. The word "unfair" can't encompass the senselessness of taking the life of someone devoted to serving others, at peril to himself. Officer Ryan Bonaminio will be missed
