I am deeply saddened by the lost of one of the 7th District police officers. Whenever I go and volunteer there, I feel like I am apart of the Law Enforcement family. Maybe is because after college, I want to become a police officer myself. Anyway, R.I.P. Officer Dittamo. You will be forever missed. :(

For a real Police Officer there is not a small or big assignment, Every assignment is taking with the same responsibility. For Officer Dittamo his big responsibility was to honor his duty by assisting other officers. Unfortunately, OFC DITTAMO offered the ultimate sacrifice. My paryers to OFC Dittamo family.

I know that Tommy was there to meet you and show you the way and just know you couldn't be in better hands then those that went before you. I was heartsick when I learned of Officer Dittamo's passing from a former classmate. Although I did not know Officer Dittamo personally, I have known his parents for many years through the parish I grew up in, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Woodbridge. I cannnot even fathom the grief Hector, Theresa & the rest of the Dittamo clan are experiencing at this time. However, I know they have an unwavering faith in God and that strength along with the support of their friends & family will pull them through.
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for another. St. Michael, patron saint of police officers, escort this servant of Christ into His kingdom. May the soul of Officer Paul Dittamo and the souls of other faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
