I was out of Officer Antillon's senior class in the academy. As soon as I heard the news, I was in the hospital to check on my brother in blue. He was a great person, cadet, and police officer. Not a day has gone by that I don't think of Sergio as I put on the uniform. RIP brother.

Police Officer Sergio Antillon, Our 1199 Inc. Families feel such sorrow that you have been taken from us at such a young age. Your act of kindness to a stranger shows you were a true hero. Because you decided to stop and help another, your life was lost. Always a hero on duty and off duty as well. We know you affected many peoples lives that day. Thank you is not enough for your act. May God bless your family, friends, and fellow law enforcement family. Forever in our thoughts and prayers.

Little brother in blue: You hardly got your chance at life, let alone your career. We can only hope and pray that the court will see this and punish your killer to the maximum sentence. Drunk driving, yes, a serious offense; still a misdemeanor, still tolerated. I don't think any state has a 0.0 limit. That means we tolerate it, and it is legal to drive with alcohol in your system! Oh, and eligible for a 30 day permit the next day. Yes, I am MADD. Rest in peace little brother.
