Rest in peace Chris. You lived a remarkable life and have a wonderful family. You mean so much to so many. Thank you for your service in the Navy and your continued service on the SDPD, and to all San Diego citizens. Your sudden death has shocked me and so many. You really were a hero everyday - in so many ways and in the simple little things I read you did for people. It is very painful knowing you are not here in this world anymore but are starting a new life in Heaven. May the Peace of the Lord be with you, your family and all your brothers and sister in SDPD and law enforcement in our great U.S.A. You deserve much praise and honor. God Bless all in harms way that serve our country.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Officer Wilson,

Thank you for your service to our community. I did not know you, but I am close to one of your fellow law enforcement brothers. I've learned of so many of your inspirations to others and your contributions to our community... they will live on in the ones you have touched. You are a true hero, and you will never be forgotten.

My deepest condolences to your family for their loss, and I thank them for their years of sacrifice and support to help keep our community and citizens safe.

Rest in Peace Good Man

The City of San Diego and its residents will most certainly miss Officer Wilson. It has been particularly touching and uplifting to hear, through local media coverage, what kind of professional, compassionate and dedicated police officer that he was. Even more touching was the kind of father he was to his two wonderful children. He was so blessed to have them and the kind of people that they have become are a testimony to the kind of father he was. Thank you, Officer Wilson, for your 17 years of incredible service to the San Diego community and helping keep it safe for us.
