I didn't know Officer Wilson, but I know several people who did. Officer Wilson wasn't just a San Diego hero; he was an American hero. After his service in the United States Navy, he selflessly continued his public service by swearing to uphold the law and to serve and protect the people of San Diego. For that, I will always be grateful. Thank you to Officer Wilson for making the ultimate sacrifice to keep my family and me safe.
My heart breaks for the Wilson family and the San Diego Police Department family. My thoughts are with you all during this extremely difficult time.

I did not personally know Officer Wilson, but I do know that when a distinguished public servant is struck down, we all are struck down another notch. It is our entire society that suffers a loss. My condolences to family, friends, and the SDPD family; RIP Officer Wilson

Police officers earn the respect of those who they protect because of their bravery, sacrifice, and willingness to place themselves in danger to ensure others will not suffer at the hands of violent criminals. Officer Wilson did his job that night and paid the ultimate sacrifice. May God bless him and the countless others who wear the uniform every single day.

Your life ended to early,
so many laughs and hugs uncollected!!
I hope the tears quickly turn to happy memories,
& bring smiles to the faces of those you love & care about.
The hardest thing about losing you, is the wish to say
just one more thank you, or one more i love you, or just a proper good bye!!
I wish that all who miss you, will realize you are always there, and that you can reach out and touch them , the way you did each day!!
We hope that peace is with you, and you find hugs galore...
and be sure to know we miss and love you,
and will for ever more!!
RIP Chris Wilson....

My first 2 weeks as a rookie were spent learning everything I could from you. You never criticized my wrong doings and only offered me encouragement when I doubted myself. You represented everything right with our department. God bless you Chris, you will be missed.
