Reflections for Police Officer William Edward Phillips, III
I wish there was something more to say than, "I'm sorry". I'm sorry for your loss. I am choked up just reading this, and I never even met Officer Phillips. The loss of one officer is a loss to all.
I wish there was something that I could do for you. Right now, know that there is a whole community of officers--some wear blue, some green, some gray--who are all praying for Officer Phillips, his family, friends and members of his department.
May God bless him.

Will and I loved two totally different college football teams. Wills' team was Notre Dame, and mine is University of Michigan. Every year they played brought on a new hope for Will. Wills' hope was in the shape of a victory..... My friend, you found your victory. You are in great hands with our Father! RIP my friend and you will never be forgotten. We Love you brother!!! Go ND!

My son participated in a bike ride this past Tuesday on Pennsy Trail for his Cub Scout pack. Officer Phillips and another officer both led the bike ride and discussed bicycle safety with all the scouts. He was a very nice man. He will be missed.

For Police Officer Will Phillips:
Our duty as law officers is fraught with danger and threats come from many. Among the worst is the individual that would use a vehicle in hit & run situation leaving another at the roadside. We are confidant that all our brothers and sisters who wear the badge will set aside non-essential business and seek out the culprit of this cowardly act and tragic incident using every available means of detection. We also rely upon a caring segment of the public that will furnish information to bring Will justice and dignity to themselves.
We pray for Will's family, friends, co-workers and all those who care about him/ May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
I am proud to render a final salute to Officer Will Phillips a valiant and noble soldier-of-the-law.
