To the family, friends and co-workers of agent Gallagher;

As a surviving step-father of a Border Patrol agent killed in an on duty incident, I can very closely relate to you even though I don't know you. I know that the nightmare and anguish that you are going through is almost incomprehedable and unbearable. Trust me, although time will never erase it or fill the void, time will diminish the pain and lessen the frequency of the pangs of loss and sorrow.

Lean heavily on those who support you. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help or an understanding ear.

May God hold you in His arms of strength and comfort you with His tender mercies

God bless you and God bless Agent Michael Gallagher, a true hero in every aspect who protected our borders with his life.

To my fallen brother in green,
Brother you are one of best trainees I have ever had. I had the honor of watching you grow trough the weeks and months that you where on the FTU. I also watched you become an extraordinary agent and example to all of us. You made all of us proud. It is sad to see you go, we truly lost a hero that day and heaven gained one. You will never be forgotten for what you sacrificed. Rest in peace and God bless you and your family.
We love you brother,

For Border Patrol Agent Michael V. Gallagher:

Our duty as law officers who patrol is rife with threats of injury and death. One of the most dangerous battlefields is a United States highway. Depite our precautions we can only reduce such hazards, but we cannot eliminate them. We regret that our brother Mike had to become the latest statistic. We who patrol share in this risk.

We pray for Mike's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

I am proud to render Agent Michael Gallagher a final salute.
