“I am a Connecticut State Policeman - a soldier of the law. To me is entrusted the honor of the Department.

I will serve the State of Connecticut honestly and faithfully and, if need be, lay down my life as others have done rather than swerve from the path of duty.

I will be loyal to my superiors, obey the law and enforce the law without discrimination as to class, color, creed, or condition, and without fear or favor.

I will help those in danger or distress, and at all times conduct myself so as to uphold the honor of the Department.”

God Speed, Trooper Hall...thank you for your years as a Soldier of the Law.

God, make room in heaven for another hero killed while performing his duty. Trooper Hall taught by example how a job should be done and how a life should be lived. May he rest in peace with those who have gone before. May his family find comfort in their memories, and the strength they will need in the days ahead.

For Trooper First Class Kenneth R. Hall:

Our duty as patrol troopers takes us onto one of the most dangerous battlefields - a United States Highway. Despite the equipment that we utilize, the caution we use and the measures we take to remain safe, injury and death are always a threat. We regret that our brother Ken had to be a statistic among us. Surely everyone of us who patrols shares this risk.

We pray for Ken's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the times ahead.

I am proud to render TFC Ken Hall a final salute.

God Bless the friends and family of this man who lost his life answering the call of duty. Having done this job for over sixteen years, and having lost some very close friends to violent deaths in that time, I feel the pain of T1C. Hall's family, friends and co-workers. My heart goes out to his wife and children, and to all who feel the absence of T1C. Hall in their lives as a result of this terrible incident. It is a terrible price to pay for all concerned. May the law enforcement family close in around them and comfort and help them over the course of the next difficult months and years. May T1C Hall be honored in the memories of those who knew him best, and those who only know he died trying to keep his post safe for all of us.

Police Officer’s Prayer

Heavenly Father, Almighty Commander of the Watch,
Watch over me and all those sworn to defend the public good.

Keep me focused on my mission to protect the citizenry of our fair city,
and zealous in my endeavor to pursue the criminal element, and assist those in need.

As I travel on dark streets and into alleys where the shadow of death resides,
Make my constitution strong, my courage deep, and unending.

Help me to maintain a strong body and a clean heart,
For I realize that having one without the other is begging failure.

Show me compassion, and channel Your goodness through me,
For I know there are those who need my help and understanding.

Allow me not to become hardened by the ways of the wicked,
But keep me in awe of Your works, and able to walk in wonderment upon this Earth.

Finally, Dear God, at the end of my watch, welcome me into Your arms with the love You hold in reserve for those that serve others.
May St. Michael walk with me to the gates of paradise, where St. Peter, Your Desk Sergeant, calls the roll. May he speak my name and pass me lovingly into the Kingdom of Heaven.

These things I ask, Father, and in your mercy,
grant me the strength to continue Your work,
for I know that You have saved a place for me,
and for all my brothers and sisters.

Amen

Godspeed Kenneth
