I never had the privilege to meet you, but your partner who lived that night told me stories growing up about you and him. They were amazing, filled with bravery and heroism. Because of you and your partner, Deputy Stanley McFadden, my grandfather, both your actions inspired me to become a police officer. Words fall short for what you gave me, protecting my grandfather and giving me the career I know and love. I cannot thank you enough. I'm sure you two are now reunited since his passing Oct. 19. RIP Sir, We'll meet one day.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. I am privileged to be among the first to post a reflection for you. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

I was a rookie in 1965 when I met Leo who was a hard working Honest Deputy.
I was working the night leo was taken from us, it stunned us all. in his short time
with the Washtenaw county sheriff's dept he made a lasting impression on me with
the way he carried himself. its 38 years later and I can still see him with that boyish Grin
and remember his dedication to doing his job right
You won't be forgotten Leo
