God Bless you sir.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.
Rest in Peace Cpl Edwards...

My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Corporal Matthew Edwards, and to the men and women of the Taylor Police Department. A brave police officer gave his own life to serve and protect the citizens of his community - no greater call to duty could be answered by any man. We are eternally grateful for the great sacrifices law enforcement officers and their families make every day. I share in your sorrow and grieve at the loss of this young officer - a husband, a son, a brother, a father. I pray that God grants you the strength to bear this tragedy and that the knowledge that your beloved is with our Heavenly Father brings you some comfort. Rest in peace, Corporal Edwards.

Cpl. Matthew Edwards was a kind and compassionate man from what I hear. He loved his career in law enforcement and he loved his family dearly.
His death is a reminder that our job is unpredictable and yet we do it for the people we serve in our community.
Matt made the ultimate sacrifice for the city of Taylor and he will forever be remembered .
May God Bless his wife & two kids, his co-workers, family & friends.
We'll take it from here Matt, and may you rest in peace. Amen.

Thank you for everything you did for the city of Taylor and Detroit. You are a hero, and God is watching over your family in their time of need. RIP
The cry of the city like a siren's song
Wailing over the rooftops the whole night long
Saw a shooting star like a diamond in the sky
Must be someone's soul passing by
These are the streets
Where we used to run where your Papa's from
These are the days
Where you become what you become
These are the streets
Where the story's told
The truth unfolds
Darkness settles in
Shine your light down on me
Lift me up so i can see
Shine your light when you're gone
Give me the strength
To carry on, carry on
Don't wanna be a hero
Just an everyday man
Trying to do the job the very best he can
But now it's like living on borrowed time
Out on the rim, over the line
Always tempting fate like a game of chance
Never wanna stick around to the very last dance
Sometimes i stumble and take a hard fall
Loose(?) hold your grip off the wall
Shine your light down on me
Lift me up so i can see
Shine your light when you're gone
Give me the strength to carry on
Carry on
I thought i saw him walking by the side of the road
Maybe trying to find his way home
He's here but not here
He's gone but not gone
Just hope he knows if I get lost
Shine your light down on me
Lift me up so i can see
Shine your light when you're gone
Give me the strength to carry on
To carry on

Met you a few times in passing brother, whether you were backing me on a traffic stop or me backing you. It was always good to know DHDP and TPD were looking out for one another. I will help continue the watch on the streets with our brothers and sisters, if you could just watch our backs from heaven.
RIP Corporal Edwards, it was a pleasure and an honor to have served along side of you.
