Mike Perry was a wonderful young man. He loved being a cop and cops loved him. He was probably the most energetic person on the job and was always eager for the next job. Mike was a fantastic father and his boys will miss him so very much. On June 14, 2010 he was posthumously promoted to Detective.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends, community, and Departmental Brothers and Sisters of White Plains Police Department Detective Michael Perry. He is a fallen hero that was taken from all of us far too soon. May God grant him eternal peace in Paradise. May God bless and forever watch over his wife and sons; granting them the strength and support they will need in times to come. I will pray for them and Detective Perry, and I will ask God to grant that no one, ever again, have a need to write a note like this.

Rest in Peace, Detective Perry. God Bless you, and thank you for a job well done.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Mike Perry was an amazing man and police officer. He will be remembered as a hero not for what he did but how Perry did it. Everything he did he gave his all and did with honor. He set an example for all officers that knew him by the way he conducted himself and how he was there if they needed anything. He will be greatly missed by all. May God be with him, his wife and his two sons.
