I am glad I had the chance to get to know you TFC Brown, "Wes" (as we called you in school). You were a great man who did a lot of things for everyone and in your community. I remember you playing football in school, I remember you smiling most of the time, and I remember the last time I saw you on duty and man was I shocked that you cut your hair and became a State Trooper. I remember you telling me that your job was cool and that you liked what you did being a State Trooper. It is hard to believe that all I will have now are my memories of you and now how you lost your life to foolishness. I know you are going to be an Angel protecting people from above...you are truly missed. My prayers go out to your family. R.I.P. Wes

Trooper First Class Brown gave his all to protect the community from criminals and teach the young. He lived by the motto of the Maryland State Police, One Trooper One Riot. The capture of the suspects was excellent police work by all agencies involved. God Bless His Family and every Law Enforcement Officer out there.

When I got that call while I was on State Highway overtime that a Trooper was shot, I thought to myself...heh, there ain't no way. Then I got the second call. "Do you know a Wesley Brown?" I was asked. My heart stopped for a moment. Everything became surreal. My exact words were...There is no way Wes was shot. This was 30 mins after it happened. I scrambled calling other Troopers to confirm this. Then the duty officer at Forestville cofirmed...Brown is 10-7. I couldn't figure out how this could be. Wes, no one disliked you. How could someone do this? You would have given the shirt off of your back if someone needed it. You lit up the room when you walked in. I didn't think I wold be shedding tears writing this but you were a special special person. You had that gift to make us smile even though we were having a rough day at work. You never complained or never got mad. I guess God thinks you were too good for this humanly world and needed up there. All I can say is it was too damn soon. You were a leader in the community even at your young age. You always came into the barrack telling me you wanted to grow up and be like me...noooo sir....In reality...I want to grow up to be the leader that you were. You are perfect example of what a Trooper should be like. It has been an honor to get to know you and serve at your side my friend. You will be missed but never ever forgotten. I salute you Wes. My friend....Our Guardian Angel.

Trooper Brown, I remember when you graduated from the academy and was assigned to the LaPlata Barrack. At the time, I was assigned to patrol, and remember backing you up on traffic. I want to say, thank you for your dedication to the job and making a difference in our young men lives in the State of Maryland. You are gone but not forgotten. I will always keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you my Brother.

You have our deepest sympathy in the loss Trooper Brown. A family lost a son, a department lost a dedicated officer and America lost a protector. Your assailant will be found and brought to justice. Rest in Peace, Thanks for your service.

Another good man falls to the actions of a couple of cowards who don't know how to express their emotions except through violence. Teach your kids that violence although sometimes necessary is not the first solution. Use your intellect to prove your manhood. Ghandi and MLK Jr. are better man for being able to accomplish great things without using violence first. Trooper Brown's family and the men he touched are in my prayers.
