Josh i can remeber the first day we started class 112 together and how easy it was to get to know you..... you were a very open person and a great leader who alot of us in that class looked up too. it was always cool to see you because no matter how the day was going you could always make us laugh or smile. you were a very good officer and everyone loved you no matter who you were dealing with. you will be missed sorley but you will always be in our hearts as we strive on to carry out our duty to serve and protect. you had major influence on me as a person and as a friend. your humor and sincerity will be missed deeply. my thoughts and prayers are with all the guys up there and your family. i will miss you but we will meet again my brother. R.I.P Josh, you will forever be in our hearts......

I worked with Josh for many years with the Division of Child and Family Services. He was so compassionate toward the families with whom he worked. I was not surprised when he went into law enforcement, where he excelled as an officer and as a person. Josh was a wonderful role model for the children both on and off the reservation. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his community. Rest in peace dear, dear friend.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"
