Marc, I know that Bert welcomed you with open arms into heaven yesterday and that the 2 of you will continue your partol from heaven. Unfortunately, I know all too well the pain your wife is feeling, but she will have more support that she ever imagined. I am going to reach out to her and offer her whatever I can, even if that only means an ear to listen since I can unfortunately relate. I know when Bert died, all I wanted was someone who could say to me "I know how you feel" and mean it. I know that your wife and children have a new guardian angel in heaven and many angels watching over her and your children from here. Thank you Marc for your sacrifice. Rest in peace.

Every day the uniform is put on, the vest, the weapon, the pieces of blue that make you unique. The thought that you may never walk back through that door again doesn't enter your mind - if it did, could you leave? The job is one unknown after another - never knowing if the next call will be your last - if you knew it was, could you go? None of this matters. None of this changes the events of this afternoon. My wish, my hope is that your soul is with your maker. Rest easy Marc - your family will be loved and held together through this terrible time and as the pain lessens and the fracture heals, your family will never forget you as we will never forget you.
