Unbelievable...the similarities of Trooper Castellano and the officer that we just recently lost. Two young men protecting and serving (going after "the bad guy"), leaving behind, after only 29 years of life, their wives and two children. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss.

Your move to God's department was not expected by your brothers and sisters here. Your new partners and comrades are all also honorable and loving brothers and sisters in the badge and have all given the ultimate in service to God's children in their communities as you did. Your record of honor, service, devotion and integrity will keep your name in the forefront of all your brothers and sisters left behind and they will care for your family. Your name will never be forgotten and your love of duty will stand as a guide line for those coming after. Rest in peace brother. In Christ.

To the Castellano Family,

I was so saddened to get this call yesterday. My brother was Trooper Bertram T. Zimmerman III #5853. We are praying for your family, friends, and coworkers. I belong to a group called "The Survivors of the Triangle." This is a great organization. We will help you get through this tragic ordeal. They helped me and my family. If it wasn't for them and C.O.P.S., I don't know where I would be today. My family and I will be there for you always in any way we can. Marc's life will never be forgotten!! We will be there for you in Washington, D.C. next year when he is honored for making the ultimate sacrifice. We will not let you walk alone.

Love,
Andrea Zimmerman Lomas

A POLICE OFFICER’S PRAYER:--- O, gentle Lord ! Keep the day/night watch with me. As I begin my tour of duty, I ask your protection from all mental, physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people. Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be courageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Let me respond to all calls with haste realizing that so many are dependent upon me for life and safety. Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think no one really cares and that I am taken for granted. Sustain in me the conviction that so many thousands do care and are grateful for my presence. Grant that I may be loyal to my partner and my fellow officers, and that I may back them up effectively when called upon for assistance. Lord, I ask that I may return safely, after my tour of duty, to my loved ones and those who love me. I pray that I may be a good and honorable police officer; and after my tour of duty is over here on earth, may I enjoy the peace and happiness of heaven that you have promised to those who serve you well. AMEN. *** REST IN PEACE ***
