Reflections for Police Officer Thomas William Evans
Lord Jesus, as we watch America’s Peace Officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, Shot and Killed in the Line-of-Duty, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the peace officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.
Holy Scriptures on Law Enforcement’s Mission:
“For the policeman [peace officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [peace officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [the peace officer] will have you punished. He [the peace officer] is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.” [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]
[Jesus Said,] “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Brother this year I got to come to Washington and see your name and the names of all our other brothers from Crittenden County. Your son has grown up to be a fine police officer and looks just like you. As Sunday May 20th is coming up this weekend we remember Brandon and you. While in Washington I got to hangout with Futch. We laughed at old stories of all of us.

Hero-
a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You two men had that, unlike the cowards you stopped that day. Watching that stop just makes every officer I know , wish they could have been there at that moment to help. God bless you both and your families.

It's hard to believe it's been almost 5 years since you and Brandon were taken away from us all. Things have changed brother but there is one thing that hasn't changed. There is not a day I don't miss you and Brandon. I sit back and think off all the great times we had together on and off duty. You would be so proud of Dylan. He's such a great young man and is falling right into your foot steps. Each and every time I get a message from him or see him I immediately see you. We miss you brother. Keep watching over us all and tell Brandon I said what's up also. I love you guys and miss you so much. Take care my friends, my brothers. Love ya.

"In order to honor the fallen, we must live." On this day, 4 years ago , Officer Evans and Paudert were shot and killed on duty. It was a very tragic day for the whole town, but also my family knowing that could''ve been my dad. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about y'all. Thank you for protecting the city of West Memphis along with the rest of the officers. We love you.

I've seen the video, and I've read the articles. Although I reside in a different state, you and your Sergeant's story stand out to me. Nothing is routine in this line of work as I have come to find out. Danger comes with the job, and Sir, you went above and beyond your call of duty. I do a ton of research on fallen officers and when I stumbled across your story and learned more about what happened, it struck me hard. Thank you for going above and beyond to serve on the Thin Blue Line. RIP sir, your assignment is done. Godspeed.

Happy birthday dad. Miss you like crazy man!!!! I'm a junior in college and I'm going to be a cop too. You would probably whoop my butt, but it's in my blood old man.
