To survive a combat deployment in the most hostile environment in the world, only to come back home and die at the hands of a thug. This one strikes deep in my heart as a former police officer and current US Marine. My deepest condolences to the family and partners of Deputy Deutch.

Any Police Officer's death always hits me hard but this one in particular is hard to take because of the fact that he had just returned home after serving his country so admirably in a dangerous war zone only to be murdered here. A truly sad story and a true American hero. Although I cannot go out to attend your funeral I will be there in thought and prayer. God bless and rest in peace.

Police Officer Nelson Marti

To the family: I am so very sorry. I have a twin brother that is a Sergeant in the United States Army. Our goal was to always be police officers and serve together. Our paths went seperate ways but I often wish he was beside me in my squad car.

I will pray for you.

Thank You Ian for your service. You are a true hero and patriot. Now go walk the streets of gold, you deserve it.
