I have been assisted on several occasions by Montgomery County Police Department in the course of my private life. These officers have been nothing but courteous and of the utmost professional standing, even in the face of danger.
I never met Officer Ayala, but I have met some of his colleagues and I pray for his family and friends as they honor his service to this country.

So sad to lose one so young to yet another traffic related fatality. I have been retired since 2000, never met this young man, but am saddened by the tragedy both for his family and for his fellow officers.

A Comrade of Yesterday – A Saint of God Today (c)
Dear God,
We come here today to remember our dear brother Hector Ayala…who for reasons we do not understand was suddenly taken from us.
We give thanks and praise to YOU for the life of Hector and for the privilege of knowing and remembering him.
Hector walked and labored with us for the cause of humanity.
Now our dear brother has entered into the “Joy of the Lord,” a Comrade of Yesterday – a Saint of God Today.
Although we look upward to that “Glorious Hope” and Glad Reunion when our work on this earth is done…
Today, we pray together asking you to send guardian angels to watch over us and all other Law Enforcement Officers around this great nation.
Protect us, walk beside us, and watch over us keeping us safe.
When danger is near, give us courage and strength. Guide our paths, so that we may return home to our families and loved ones unharmed.
In Jesus Name, Amen

For Police Officer Hector Ayala:
No law officer who ever called for help in an emergency expected help to arrive in any less time than it took him or her to hang up his mic or his cell. Hector knew that, and responded to help. Fate has stated that he would not arrive. No matter what is now said, it has happened before - and regrettably - it will probably happen again. It is life on the street.
We pray for Hector's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. We pray they are ready to assist one another when the time arrives. It is how we survive.
I am proud to render Officer Hector Ayala, a soldier of the law, a final salute.
