Brian
I sat on your oral board when you got hired and got to spend time with you in the Detectives office....I knew from the beginning you were a good man. Rest assured your extended family will continue what you started and I will never forget you. Godspeed

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Walsh. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Brian, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Brian's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Brian's life was about so much more than the way he died. Brian will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Officer Walsh, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been seven years and a half years but he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

To the family and friends of Officer Brian Walsh and his fellow officers:

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Brian tragically died.

To Officer Walsh's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Brian gave to his community and the citizens of Washington, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 21, 2010.

For Officer Brian Walsh:

Our duty as law officers is one of stress and strain. No assignment that we respond to does not include placing some kind of stress upon us physically or mentally. Each assignment demands that we provide the degree of service that is befitting a member of our own family. None of us that enforce the law can predict the effect that will have, sooner or later, upon our health. In the case of our brother Brian, it was negative and far too soon.

We pray for Brian's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May the be ready to support one another during the days ahead. In doing so they will honor him as the hero that he now stands among us.

I am proud to render Officer Brian Walsh a final salute.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope the memories of you husband will bring you and your children comfort during this time. I know how you will tell your unborn child of the many things their wonderful father did... I am the widow of a soldier who was killed in Iraq and I know there are no words to make you feel comfort right now... so I can only offer my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Lean on those who will offer support...

Thinking of you at this time

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
(Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
