Reflections for Deputy Sheriff John F. Cable

While riding the top of the hill behind Shelby Gap near the Virginia/Ky line, today and over the last 11 yrs at his grave we found several more unmarked. I did not know the circumstances of his death until today. From the report he was a very good man. I am the Grandson of Levi and Delpha Belcher

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 73rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I'm glad I could contribute the information so this officer could be honored. Although he has been gone 70 years, he still has family somewhere, who need to see his service honored nationwide.
