Tom, my brother, I remeber the night Jason West was killed and we were both in the ER at Huron Rd Hospital. We hugged each other, and then prayed and cried together as Jason passed away. That was one of the hardest things I ever saw but also something I was glad to be a part of. I saw you as cop for the first time and I was very proud of my younger cousin. You were a true professional that day and I bragged about you to everyone even your Dad. Now less than three years later I was at that same ER only this time I was crying and praying for you. We will never forget your sacrifice and I will try to make you proud.

It was an honor and pleasure to work with you Tom. Always a good guy to have around. You definetly made the job fun when I worked on your night shift for a few months. Rest in peace and keep a watchful eye over all the other CHPD officers.

For Police Officer Thomas Patton II:
Our duty as a law officer demands everything we consist of both mentally and physically. We strive to be fit and to anticipate what might happen to us. At the end of the day, we haven't a clue what might await us on our next call. Each of us just engages an assignment with a desire to serve and protect. The outcome is what exists after we have employed all we have, all we know and all we can do. For our brother Tom, he sacrificed his life doing his job. Such is our lot.
We pray for his family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another at the appropriate moment.
I am proud to render Officer Thomas Patton a final salute.
Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
