Reflections for Police Officer James David Bonneau
When I heard the news yesterday morning, my heart fell for the loss of yet another heroic police officer. May Officer Jim Bonneau rest in peace. May his family, friends, and coworkers find peace in knowing that Jim was a hero and died doing what he loved. He will forever be watching over us all. God Speed.

Rest in Peace Brother and tell my to be Son-in law Josh Norris EOW 07/05/2007 hello and have him show you around. My prayers are with your family during this dark time, but you will have your day, a day that you richly deserve, too many police cars to count, with lights blazing and sirens screaming, escorting you. Hundreds of your brothers will stand at attention saluting you and the citizens of your community will shed tears. A 21 gun salute will sound out in respect for you and heart numbing Taps" will be played for you while your family receives a flag. There will not be a dry eye left from both your family and police family near and far. Saint Michael the chief of police in heaven will greet you at the pearly gates and welcome you to Saint Peter's district. You will never be forgotten and your strength and courage will live on to inspire every new deputy that takes up the call of the profession and your sacrifies will be remmebered through out the nation with every police officer. You got the call, you gave your all, and it was more than enough. So prop your feet up and take a load off up there and keep an ear to the radio so that when another of our brother's number is called you can meet them at the gate with a cup of coffee and a smile. Oh and put in a good word for me up there, I like the day watch and make sure my boy Josh is not sleeping the time way.
To the Family of Officer Bonneau
Your complete family are in my families prayers during this dark time. My family is just starting to make it thru a lost of our own with the death of my future son in-law Josh Norris and your love one brings the days we lost Josh back so clear. James was taken to early and should of had more time with you guys and I know words at this time will never stop the hurt, but know he is not far from you. He is the whisper in the wind, that feeling of being hugged when no one is there, he will always be at your side watching over ever accomplishment and catching ever tear that you guys shed. What has helped my family and may help yours, remember your love ones laugh, his smile and all those things that are unique to him, since they are truly what made him. Your police family extends it arms to you, if this one from Louisiana can do anything do not hesitate to ask. God bless you and may he give you strength.

There is a line
the color of the sky
on a clear afternoon
There is a line
the hue of the ocean
on a bright sunny day
There is a line
the purest shade of a newborn's eyes
awakening for the first time
There is a line
that protects us from harm
in all we do
whether day or night
There is a line
no one can penetrate
no one can alleviate
There is a line
made of those who choose
to follow a calling many do not hear
and still more do not comprehend
They choose to walk
the path of fear, hate, and mistrust
taken by so few
but marked by so many
And when one leaves this line
they leave a legacy
but the line does not break
for the remaining must still protect
There may be emptiness
a loss, or sadness
but never a hole
not in this line
This line that holds
the ghosts of the souls who have gone
and the souls of the ghosts who will be
THE THIN BLUE LINE
James will always be an honored member of that line

There is no greater man than one who would lay down his own life to protect the lives of others. Another young life ended way too soon. May the Lord grant his family, both at home and at work, the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Fading light dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar drawing nigh -- Falls the night.
Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
Then good night, peaceful night,
Till the light of the dawn shineth bright;
God is near, do not fear -- Friend, good night.
Rest in peace my brother...
