Cpl Searcy I did not know you but after going to your funeral I know that you must have been an awesome person by what your fellow OPSO deputies said. The sacrifice you made so that the world is protected from evil speaks volumes of you. Your sacriface wasn't in vain because we wil continue to fight for the innocent and your honor brother. Corporal J.R. Searcy was laid to rest today following a service at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. An amazing multitude of law enforcement, family, friends, and many in the community who never met this good man filled the sanctuary to honor his life and his memory. He was praised by all who spoke as a generous public servant who best exemplified the special calling and traits of a true peace officer. Ouachita Parish lost one of its best men, and most of us here in the community realize that, I hope.
