Corporal J.R. Searcy was laid to rest today following a service at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. An amazing multitude of law enforcement, family, friends, and many in the community who never met this good man filled the sanctuary to honor his life and his memory. He was praised by all who spoke as a generous public servant who best exemplified the special calling and traits of a true peace officer. Ouachita Parish lost one of its best men, and most of us here in the community realize that, I hope.
