Since I heard the news, I have had Chris and his family on my mind. My heart goes out to the loved ones for the burden they will have to carry for a long time. One has to think that things will get better in time. We don't ever forget him, but as time passes, we will get stronger and we will all do better.
I know that Chris died doing what he wanted to do. He took this job very seriously and I know he must have put his heart and soul into it every time he put on our uniform and badge. I respect him and honor him for that.
When I taught at the FLETC, I used to tell my classes that I never wanted to see any more names put on the wall. But in our line of work, one never knows when our number will be called. One never knows when we will be placed into a situation we can't walk away from. Chris did not run from the danger, he faced it, and that takes a special person.
Chris is in a much better place now and probably still smiling. Rest in peace my brother. God bless you!!

My condolences to the family!
It's never easy to lose a member of the force in the line of duty. And it's very hard to accept due to a fundamental error in judgement.
The thougts and prayers of the NWTF family are with you during this very difficult time!
