Reflections for Lieutenant Brian S. Mohamed

Taken too soon, a true inspiration, the strongest person I have ever known. Not a day goes by without my thoughts turning to you. I will miss you every day until I join you in the heaven. We still have a piece of you in your beautiful son. He gives us great "Brian" moments. You are still here with us in our hearts and in spirit. Love Jackie

I use this comment repeatedly on this site, but it seems to particularly ring true for officers who lost their lives in relation to 9/11.

When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge - Proverbs 14:32.

You are truly a hero, my brother in blue. Your sacrifice will never ever be forgotten. Thank you for all you did.

I was a friend of Brian's when he and I were in the Marine Corps together. I am still his friend and shall forever be. His sacrifice does not surprise me. He has always been that way, putting others before himself. Semper Fi, my friend. We will meet again.

We all lost relatives and friends on September 11. I hope we will never forget the sacrifice made by all the brave men and women. While every body was running out, they ran in. Least we forget who was responsible for it all. We will never forget the hero's, but never forgive or forget our enemy.

To the family and friends of Lt. Brian Mohamed and his fellow officers:

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Brian tragically died as a result of his heroism following 9/11. None of our 9/11 heroes will be forgotten.

To Lt. Mohamed's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Brian gave to his city and the citizens of New York, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 25, 2009.
