Rest In Peace, David. In Matthew 5:9 the Bible states that
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God"!
You've made it home, my friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends and co-workers.

To Officer Zolendziewski and his entire family, both on and off the job. My sincerest apologies for not leaving a reflection sooner. Though I'm only just over 100 miles away I was not aware of this tragedy. I don't visit this page as faithfully as I used to and it seems this sad event wasn't considered newsworthy enough in Eastern Mass. Though I'm not a VIP nor am I aquainted with Officer Zolendziewski's friends and family, I feel that when a Brother Officer from my home state passes from this watch to the next, I, as a Police Officer have a certain obligation to acknowledge it. I do so now, belatedly.
My heart goes out to all of you. The picture which accompanies this page shows a face that seems to radiate all that a cop is supposed to be; professional but with that sense of humor that keeps him going. I know he'll never be far from those who know and love him best.
Rest in Peace Brother and may God Bless you and all you hold near and dear.

A number of years ago I started trading police patches. The Holyoke patch was one of the first in my collection. I remember it quite well because it was the birth place of vollyball. I am saddened to read this and i am left wondering if this is the friend I traded with all those years ago. God speed in you new journey.

RIP DAVE
Officer
Holyoke

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"
