Reflections for Corporal Christopher Milito
Chris, Your time in hell has been served. You have been called by your savior for a new assignment. Looking over your family and friends, along with your bothers and sisters in blue. Rest easy knowing that your brothers and sisters here in will take them into arms and embrace them and support them through these trying times. You will be missed, my friend.
Chris, you finally got day work!

Rest in Peace Brother. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and all the members of the DRPA.
LEST WE FORGET
I never dreamed it would be me,
My name for all eternity,
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face.
"In the line of duty, I hear them say:
My family now the price to pay.
My folded flag stained with their tears;
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest,
I sleep now in eternal rest.
My sword I pass to those behind,
And pray they keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me,
And with heavy heart and bended knee,
I ask for all here from the past:
Dear God, let my name be the last.

For Corporal Christopher Milito:
Our duty as law officers takes us onto one of the most dangerous battlefields - a United States highway. It is a place taking many casualties, and being a law officer investigating crashes there increases our risks of being among them.
For our brother Chris, fate has stepped into this day. Only our creator can provide the answer as to why it would be Chris, or who might be next. It is a risk all law officers accept. We can only say that Chris, too, chose this life, and we have little doubt he would not choose it again. He now stands a hero-among-heros. He has earned his place among them by giving his life in the service of others.
We pray for Chris, his family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another with love and concern when the time is appropriate. May they remember the best moments he brought light into their life.
I am proud to render Corporal Chris Milito a final salute.

"In The Line of Duty"
What is the meaning of "In The Line Of Duty"
It means that an officer made the Ultimate sacrifice.
It means that someone took an officer's life.
A hero has fallen.
Officers who gave their all
To protect and serve
Have been killed by someone whom they swore
To protect and serve.
It means that their badge will no longer be on their chest
And they will join
"The Best Of The Best"
It means that family and friends are left behind
To deal with the lost of a loved one.
Only having the memories of that loved one
Close to their hearts.
Something no one can ever take away.
It means that family members will stand at the officers grave
And wonder why ...
Why would someone take an officer's life
And leave them there to die?
If we only knew.
Today an officer will place their badge on their chest
To fulfill the dreams of heroes killed
