To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 130th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

mom of fallen officer Larry Lasater

For Constable Charles Albert Washburn:

A law officer responding to a domestic call is always in danger. It is one of the most of perilous situations. Still our duty is to protect and to serve. We regret that Charlie would meet his fate in this manner, but we cannot withhold our admiration of his courage and our respect for his dedication. He now stands a hero among heros.

We pray for Charlie, his family, his friends, his co-workers and all who cared about him. May they remember forever all the reasons they admired him for who he was.

To Constable Charles Washburn I am proud to render a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
