Rest easy blue warrior, your shift is done.
Thank you for your service, courage, bravery, dedication and sacrifice. Your brothers and sisters in blue and family will carry on, tho with heavy hearts and the citizens of Lakewood, current and past, will remember you, forever.
I might have met you, I might not. But I know that my family that still reside in the area were lucky to have such a warrior in their midst.

My first recollections of Ronnie are out at the State Patrol Academy, and just how RED his face could get during our physical welcome new recruits induction. I suppose we all kinda look that way.
Ron was a kind warm person, always friendly with his peers. A man who had a reassuring calming presence, yet was still all pro and able to flip the switch and get tough. His departure from the Patrol to Lakewood was our loss and in my mind he will forever always be a Trooper.
God Bless his family and love ones. GLA

Myself and my family offer the deepest sympathy to the fallen officers and their family and friends. This was a senseless tragedy. Swift justice prevailed by another fellow officer. To the officers families try to remember all the lives they touched while on watch and off. They are in the Lord's arms now still watching over all. Try to remember you are all members of the largest family in the world and we are all feeling your sorrow.
To the families and friends: May the Lord Bless You and watch over you now and forever.

"We Remember the Officers"
We remember the officers who changed our lives,
The men and woman who protected us day and night,
People who respect for their dedication to the cause,
For when faced with danger, they never even pause.
We remember the officers who always stood true,
Whatever the color of uniform, brown gray or blue,
With pride and integrity they say "To serve and protect",
For the giving of their life, we offer our respect.
We remember the officers who we never really knew,
Persons strong enough to answer the challenge are few,
With heavy hearts we mourn the officers in eternal rest,
There's more to these people than the badge on their chest.

"REST IN PEACE"
"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
