Dear Family,
I just want to let you know that my heart goes out to you your two children and the whole Lakewood Police Department...I have walked in your shoes and know what you are dealing with...
I lost my husband (Det. Jarrod B. Shivers) on 1/17/08 and it was the most difficult time of my life...Your wife Tina was a true hero and she did a job that not everyone can do...It takes a very "special" person and she filled those shoes...Just always keep her memory alive with not how she died but in the way she lived...That has truly helped me deal with the pain and loss...
With much love from my family to yours, Nicole Shivers

Dear Tina, I wish I had known you. I am impressed you were such a ton of dynamite in such a little bottle. I salute you for being you and for working the beat, day after day and putting on the uniform no matter what.

I and my family wish to express our sincere sympathy to Tina’s entire family and friends. This is not the way that any of us think that we are going to leave this world. The person was dealt justice by the hands of one of our other brother officers. Our prayers are with everyone in this time of great loss. Tina and the other officers and family belong to the largest family in the world, The Law Enforcement Family. Our prayers are with you all now and for always. May God bless everyone.

I know the officers will never be forgotten by the community they served. May they all rest in peace. Justice was done by a brother officer in blue.
