Dan, you are the brother Mike never had. Your love and friendship will never be replaced ... you have always been and always will be a part of our family. Dad called you his second son, and we know that he was one of many who welcomed you home. We believe that love transcends eternity and that each day Mike will continue to be blessed with your undying love and friendship. Please help him to feel your continued presence in his life and draw from it the strength he will need to move forward. God bless you, Dan. We love you!

To the family and friends of Correctional Officer Daniel Leach and his fellow officers:
On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Daniel was tragically killed.
To Officer Leach's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
To the officers of the LVMPD: Your department has suffered so many recent losses that it must be excrutiating to endure yet another blow. However, I know that the memory of your colleagues will continue to inspire you and that you will continue your and their legacy of protecting and serving, and that your badges are shining even brighter now in light of the enormous sacrifices of your friends.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the many years of dedicated service Daniel gave to his community and the citizens of Nevada, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 21, 2009.

There are times when we wonder what plans our Lord have for us. You have now learned what they are and as you now dwell in total peace and love in His kingdom know you will not be forgotten here. Your brothers and sisters in the badge that you left behind will keep yor name alive and they will tend to your children. As you meet and get to know your new brothers and sisters know they too paid the ultimate working in our profession of law enforcement. In Christ.

Danny and I were in the same academy. I have worked with Dan and Supervised him over the many years. I found Dan to be a person who never complained, always asked how everyone was doing, and always wished the best for everyone. He was a joy to be around, an absoultely wonderful person whom I will personally miss very much.
