I served under Officer Nettleton during his time in the United States Marine Corps. The man was, is, and now forever will be a true warrior. I have no doubt he approached his work in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police the same way he approached his duty as a Marine. He was a man who did not shy away from battle, did not hesitate to place himself into harm to protect others. He fought the war on terror and the war on crime with vigor and will not be forgotten.

I had this similar incident happen to me confronted by 4 gang members at my home following my shift, thankfully I survived.
Please let officer Nettleton's death not go in vain and a learning experience to all LEO's that these gang members will come and kill you at your home's. Please be safe and conscious of this.
My deepest regrets and prayers go out to Officer Nettleton, his family and to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department for there sad loss. RIP brother and may god bless your soul.

Trevor,
You lived a short but heroic life and will be remembered as the best of the best.
As our Hymm says, my brother Marine, "They will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines." I know you will volunteer for more than your share of duty at the gates.
Rest in Peace.

Trevor I have had the honor of working with you for three wonderful weeks. As your FTO at enterprise area command you were one of the best I ever had the pleasure of training. Like all , I've been hurting so much inside since last week. I still remember you stopping by to see me at Choices group and telling me how excited you were to be a new father. Your family will be looked after by the men and women of the LVMPD forever. I miss you brother!

For Police Officer Trevor Nettleton:
Our duty as law officers brings into our lives risks and situations hardly encountered by many others. Having to deal with those who would seek revenge or come to our residence is among them.
Our brother Trevor, it appears, was prepared for such a situation, as we all should be, and was able to fight back. We regret that he had to lose his life in the process. A true military man and dedicated law officer he makes us all proud though his actions. He rises to hero among heros. We pray for him and his family, his friends, his co-workers and all those who care about him.
I am proud to render Officer Trevor Nettleton a final salute.

“Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. He is the hero, he is everything. He must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor, by instinct, by inevitability, without thought of it, and certainly without saying it. He must be the best man in his world and a good enough man for any world.”
Rebecca Harding Davis
Rest In Peace Officer Nettleton. Our prayers are with you, your family and your department.
