It makes me so very sad, when I see yet another fellow officer die in the line of duty. This incident is even more touching due to the fact Sgt,Shaw has two small children and the holiday season is quickly approaching.May you rest in peace brother and may God Bless your family.

There are no words that truly comfort yet, they will in time but not now. For now we just want Jeff's family to know that your sorrow is ours, our gratefulness to your husbands sacrifice I know is not enough, but it is something. He was a man of service and supplied that giftedness with honor. May the Good Lord be merciful to him and may his journey to the garden gate be at peace.
We most definately care.

Island Co Sheriff's Office WA

For Sergeant Jeffery B. Shaw:

Our duty as law officers takes us onto the most dangerous battlefield of all -- a United States highway.

We can train, practice and concentrate on the art of driving a patrol vehicle and still become the victim of a mishap. Such is our lot. Each of us that has performed patrol is still here not because of practice or skill, but just sheer luck.

We pray for the family, co-workers, friends and all who care about Jeff. May they recall all of the best moments they shared with him.

As a fellow law officer I am proud to render Sergeant Jeffery B. Shaw a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennylvania State Police

To the family and friends of Sergeant Shaw,
My family and I want to let you know that you are being thought of every minute of everyday. We too have walked your difficult path and want to share with you that many wonderful people are there to help you. Many are walking along side you to help hold you up and there are many more that will continue to do so into the next hard days. We survivors are all family and we feel each others pain, but those of us before you know that with this pain also comes great strength and wonderful people that God places in your path to show you how to move forward. We never forget our fallen and the loved ones they leave behind that is a promise!!
