Thinking of you a lot lately. I was in Washington DC today. I went to the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. This is the place where you will have your name engraved. This is the place where I can take my kids to show them what a hero you are. I will always talk of Uncle Dave with the utmost respect, but more importantly with a smile on my face. I know that is the way you would want it. Love you
Bud!

Everyone knows now what a hero you are. You have given your life to do your job. This should come as no surprise to anyone. You served your country and your state with courage, determination and pride. I think of you all the time. I remember all the good times we had. You were the best brother and friend anyone could ask for. You could always make me smile or laugh even when I was mad. I miss that sense of humor of yours. I miss all the times we talked. But I know you died doing what you loved. You died doing your job the right way. I am so proud of you.

David,
Can't explain how much it hurts not to see or hear your voice on Christmas. Even wishing I would get sprayed with a taped kitchen sprayer..... A piece of my heart is missing.... I know you are with all of us. Your brother troopers are taking good care of Kelly and your family and we appreciate so much all they have done. Please watch over them and thier families, keep them safe. Know we think of you every moment and long for your funny pranks and ...grins. Love you so much !!!! Mom

Think of you everyday. Christmas is always a time of reflection and I am ever so blessed to have known you. We talk about you a lot and for that we can continue to smile as you would have. I know you were laughing at me today as I had a few mishaps during dinner prep. Thanks for the help! Love ya and miss ya! Merry Christmas from down here to up there.

Dave,

You are missed everyday, that certainly goes without saying. Everyday I have to drive by that spot to get to my post. But each time I do, it is a reminder that I have been given yet another day to do the job that you loved so much. So I don't take it for granted that I am alotted that opportunity. I just smile knowing that you are with me and all of us at SP Catskill while we are out on the road, there to keep us safe. We all know we have a lot to live up to because you were an awesome Trooper. While our hearts are still healing, just know Dave that you will never be forgotten.
Merry Christmas Dave!

I think about you every second of the day, I still can't believe your gone. I keep waiting for you to walk through the door, smile, and ask for a hug. You made my life complete and for that I will forever be grateful. Even though my heart is broken, I know what you would say "It is what it is". You paid the ultimate price and I know you wouldn't have had it any other way; you died with honor, doing what you loved. I am so proud of everything that you have done and am proud to have been on my way to becoming your wife. I truly hope that someday we can be together again, and pick up where we left off; until then, rest in peace.
I love you with all of my heart, always and forever.

Trooper Lane,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your community, but also for our Country when you served as a U.S. Army Paratrooper in Afghanistan and Iraq. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dave,
The short time we spent together I came to know you as an outstanding young man. The more I found out about you the more my respect for you grew. I was looking forward to calling you my son-in-law. See you when I see you.

Brother,
Its 1:15AM and im in Japan with the military. I think of you everyday and talk about you as much as possible. I met a guy from 82nd who was in Iraq with you and I was telling him all about you. Im so happy that I was able to serve with you as a State Trooper and in the military. I really cant wait to see you or hear some of your jokes. It was such an honor that you asked me about joining the State Police and even more watching you excel. Maybe some day I will understand. I know that you did more then most do in a life time. I know you are loved by me and so many others.
Rest for now - Mike

My heart aches so much for you....to see that...grin or hear let's hug it out or what ya got, Mom! I know why you loved to be a Trooper and why you loved the men and women you worked with. They are truly amazing and an honor to know as well as all the law enforcement officers all over the US who have contacted us. They will be in our hearts forever. We received a letter yesterday..a Mom you helped. My heart is broken but it beats with Pride reading the wonderful letters written by so many caring people who take the time to write them. Hopefully someday I will be able to repay the kindness and compassion given to us by so many. Our hearts ache for all the families who have lost their loved one... it is the worst possible loss. I still expect you to walk through the door and say this is just a joke...BUT......know that we will talk about you often....miss you so much... and ALWAYS LOVE YOU MORE EVERYDAY......YOUR GRATEFUL MOM!!
