I cannot fathom that a brother officer can be gunned down just sitting in his patrol vehicle.
This is just an abhorrent crime.
My most sincere condolences to family, friends and co-workers.
Be at peace with God mate.

Brother Officer Brenton
I did not know you well, and only remember seeing you in passing. However we shared the same uniform and mission. That mission was to served the citizens of Seattle, WA.. You did that well and in the process you gave the ultimate price. I pray for your family that they will be strong during these hard times, but I know they will be because you have prepared them for this. I know you will also be watching over them 24/7 now something you could not do when you were on earth. So stare down on all of us from heaven my brother and guard the gates as you guarded this city we protect.
God Bless!!

Somebody killed a policeman today, and a part of American died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect, will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court, with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battled field too, just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today, in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all, And A Part Of America Died.

THE POLICEMAN STOOD AND FACED HIS GOD, WHICH MUST ALWAYS COME TO PASS. HE HOPED HIS SHOES WERE SHINING, JUST AS BRIGHTLY AS HIS BRASS.
"STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN. HOW SHALL I DEAL WITH YOU? HAVE YOU ALWAYS TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK? TO MY CHURCH HAVE YOU BEEN TRUE?"
THE POLICEMAN SQUARED HIS SHOULDERS AND SAID, "NO LORD, I GUESS I AIN'T, BECAUSE THOSE OF US THAT CARRY BADGES CAN'T ALWAYS BE A SAINT. I'VE HAD TO WORK MOST SUNDAYS, AND AT TIMES MY TALK WAS ROUGH, AND SOMETIMES I'VE BEEN VIOLENT BECAUSE THE STREETS ARE AWFULLY TOUGH.
BUT I NEVER TOOK A PENNY, THAT WASN'T MINE TO KEEP. THOUGH I WORKED A LOT OF OVERTIME WHEN THE BILLS JUST GOT TOO STEEP.
AND I NEVER PASSED A CRY FOR HELP, THOUGH AT TIMES I SHOOK WITH FEAR. AND SOMETIMES GOD, FORGIVE ME, I'VE WEPT UNMANLY TEARS. I KNOW I DON'T DESERVE A PLACE AMONG THE PEOPLE HERE THEY NEVER WANTED ME AROUND EXCEPT TO CALM THEIR FEAR.
IF YOU'VE A PLACE FOR ME HERE, LORD IT NEEDN'T BE SO GRAND I NEVER EXPECTED OR HAD TOO MUCH BUT IF YOU DON'T I'LL UNDERSTAND."
THERE WAS SILENCE ALL AROUND THE THRONE WHERE THE SAINTS HAD OFTEN TROD, AS THE POLICEMAN WAITED QUIETLY FOR THE JUDGMENT OF HIS GOD. "STEP FORWARD NOW, POLICEMAN. YOU'VE BORNE YOUR BURDENS WELL. COME WALK A BEAT ON HEAVENS STREETS YOU'VE DONE YOUR TIME IN HELL."

St. Michael, Heaven's glorious Commissioner of Police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional eyes on you earthly force. Give us cool heads, stout hearts, hard punches, an uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment. Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptation. You know Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the policeman's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration. And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of men.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Brenton Family
Amen
