For Correctional Officer Jack Cannon:
Our duty as law officers and keepers of order involve many hazards. Sometimes it is merely our regimen of keeping in shape that creates either a mishap or even, as in Jack's case, a heart problem or stroke that takes our life.
Nobody knows who nor how nor when any of us will depart the face of this earth, we just know that a public servant who dies doing his duty has done it for his fellow man. Great honor and much appreciation is associated with these situations.
We pray for Jack's family, friends, co-workers and all who cared about him. We hope they recall all of the moments that he made a positive impression in their lives.
To Correctional Offcier Jack Cannon I am proud to render a final salute.
