I know of no words that will suffice. No words that are adequate. I would like for the family, friends and co-workers of Sergeant Mickey Hutchens to know there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty.
May you each experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior in the coming days.

My prayers and condolences go out to you SGT Hutchens, your family, the community, and the members of the Winston Salem Police Department. There are no words I can express that will take away the loss, but I hope these express my sincere feelings. "No greater love can one give, but to sacrifice themselves for others." May you continue to patrol the streets of heaven, for WE know you are watching down upon us now, keeping us safe as we carry on our earthly duties. May God Bless everyone.

I never had the pleasure of working directly for SGT Hutchens, but talked to him many times inside PSC. He was a good person and a great officer. He is what a true American hero should be and he is already greatly missed. I know he has entered the gates of heaven and received his crown while hearing "well done, thou good and faithful servant". My prayers remain with the family, friends and my coworkers. May God bring peace to all...RIP Sarge.

Though I never knew him, he was part of my Law Enforcement family and I will mourn this deep loss the rest of my life. My heart aches with all the losses we have suffered, and continue to suffer, through the years. God is our only peace in such incidents & our only real comfort comes from Him. May His strength, comfort & peace continue to be the sustaining force in the lives of all who knew this beloved officer; and may it somehow help to know they do not grieve alone.
