David will be sorely missed. At the academy he was always quick to make someone laugh and there to lend a helping hand.

I could not believe it when I heard you had passed away. I didn't know your family, but I can not stop thinking about them.

Rest in peace my friend, until we see each other again.

For Deputy Sheriff Francis David Blake:

Our duty as a law officer involve many risks and none greater than when traversing a United States highway.

In the course of our duty the unexpected can happen. When it is something that is mundane as an animal stepping into the path of our patrol vehicle headed to an important call it can seem base and unfair. It is, though, reality.

To have died in the performance of one's sworn duty is both heroic and honorable. Francis now stands among many before him who have given their life for our cause in law enforcement. We pray for his family, friends, co-workers and those who care about him.

To Deputy Francis David Blake I proud to render a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennylvania State Police
