Reflections for Patrolman Chad Ernest Spicer

The Twinsburg, OH Police Department wishes to express our condolences to the Georgetown Police Department during this sorrowful time. We experienced our first line of duty death in the 56 year history of our department when our friend and colleague Officer Joshua T. Miktarian was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop on July 13, 2008. We know all too well the emotions that your department is experiencing and we hope that you will take comfort in knowing that the men and women of the Twinsburg Police Department stand with you during these next difficult days, week and months. God bless Patrolman Spicer and his family.

Chad Spicer was an officer that was born to do this job. He loved every second of being a cop and helping others. I had the pleasure of working with him on numerous nights and developed a close friendship with him. I loved to see the excitement in his eyes every time he was on duty. He wanted to make a difference on duty and off. He loved his daughter and was a good father! Anyone that knew Spicer knows the excitement that was contagious just from being around him. He left a great impression on me and was a hero to me before his sacrifice and even more so now!!!! Every officer in Delaware knew him or heard of him!!!!!!!!!! He was just that good! Love you Bro!

In our line of work we place ourselves in the line of harm at anytime. Patrolman Chad Spicer, gave his life to protect the people he loved so dearly, the citizens of Georgetown Del. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May God bless his family in this hard time. Let them know he is in a far better place for just being who he was and he is now resting in the arms of our lord till we see him again. Our family is praying for them.

Brother Chad, Rest in Peace.

May God be with and bless your family, co-workers and friends at this very difficult time. Words can not express the heart filled sorrow my family and I feel for your family. A year ago we lost a brother officer and a member of our family in a LODD. I know that God will be with your family and give them the strength for the coming days, months and years.

To Chad's co-workers, know that your brother and sister officers will be there for you when you need us.

Chad,
You are so truly missed brother. I will forever remember all of the laughs we shared on those freezing nights. You would keep one telling me “Just one more car Blair, Just one more”. Brother, there is no one else that could get me out in -0 deg weather with freezing rain to do a car search, just looking for that dope. Or the times we laughed so hard it hurt trying to play beer pong in that little kitchen of yours. I remember the way your eyes would light up every chance you got to talk about your daughter. Brother, you were an example to us all in your dedication to the job, to your friends, and most importantly to your family. A part of all of us died with you, you are truly one of Delaware's FINEST! So, good by my friend and welcome home as I know your heard those beloved words “Welcome home, my good and Faithful Servant”.

Chad, sweetie, you will be greatly missed. You are an awesome and loving DAD and a wonderful friend. Thanks for everything you have done for me personally and for all that you've done for your family, friends and community. My daughter will miss you "Mr Chad" but I promise that she will always remember you as a HERO! I pray that the dreams we had of our girls growing up together being best friends will come true. I'll try hard to see that it does. Your smile was contageous and you touched so many lives. Thank you for being part of mine.

Until we meet again in Heaven my friend... <3
