To Deputy Christopher Ray, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:
I was sorry to learn of Christopher's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the Ray family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.
There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Christopher's memory will be forever honored and revered.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Christopher gave to his community and the citizens of Virginia and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on August 29, 2009.

God bless you Deputy Ray. I not only pray for your family, friends and law enforcement family but I also pray for your Field Training Officer. Being an FTO myself, I can only imagine the heartache and grief he/she is going through. It is very demanding and stressful and takes dedication and love of the job to train a new officer. God Bless you, your FTO and your entire department.
