Cpl. Roberts you served the City of Tampa with honor and distinction. The line blue line remains strong but a void has been created. We will carry on in your memory and will continue to serve in your memory and in the memory of those how gave the ultimate sacrifice before you. The City of Tampa and Tampa PD are better for having known you and servicing with you. You are at peace now and we will honor you legacy. May God Bless you and your family.

Most can not understand why we do this job, but I assure you that these reasons are never selfish. To have lived your life with courage, honor and in service of others, is a life well lived. To the family left behind, please find solace knowing your loved one has made a difference in this world and that you again will be together in paradise. Thank you my brother officer for your service and now, rest in peace.

So many times we take for granted the nights we will see you when you get home, however you never made it home that night. I thank you for your ability to be brave and courageous to protect us all. You made the ultimate sacrifice for us and we could never thank you enough. My heart aches for your wife and son. May they have the strength to carry on without you knowing you are now at peace. To Mrs. Roberts, you have a large family that is gonna help you through this ( Tampa Police Department) Keep you head held high knowing that your husband is watching over you and your child. My deepest sympathies.

As we fellow officers take an oath on our hire dates that we swear to protect and serve our city, we never imagine at that moment how hard that oath will be put to test until you hit the streets and see how some people feel about your presence and the job we do. Cpl. Roberts served that oath until his final breath of life. He is a hero because who knows how many people were saved from a disaster that could have taken place with the amount of weapons that guy was carrying.
God has a way of handling things in life! Unfortunately that night God had to sacrifice one of his true soldiers to save more precious lives. I send my prayers up to God to look down on his surviving family and this department during this terrible time.
I ask God that he keep his hand of protection over each and every one of us as we prepare to continue to work under our fallen heros that lost lives in the line of duty.
To my fellow officers I ask that you keep your head up and keep officer saftey as a priority while on duty and off. Lets stand strong and together make a statement to the people that we run the so called "mean streets" of Tampa Florida!!!!!
