We extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the family, friends and brother & sister BPA's of Agent Rosas. Every tragic and untimely death of a law enforcement officer diminishes all of us and provides a constant reminder of the increasingly dangerous and challenging battle to maintain the ever-thinning line separating order from chaos, which unfortunately sometimes requires the ultimate sacrifice from its warriors.

PA Rosas,
Your service reminds us all of the calling we all hear. To the family and friends, never forget, PA Rosas was:
Chosen by God,
Annointed by God,
Called home by God.
May God surround the family with his presence, comfort and strengthen them, and grant them peace.
Rest in Peace Brother.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Agent Rosas and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.
To the family, friends, and colleagues of Agent Rosas, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Agent Rosas is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Tonight I was notified by a friend and classmate of the tragic loss of this young man, a United States Border Patrol Agent from Campo Station, during the performance of his duties in his area of responsibility on the Southwest border. My heart is filled with the deepest sympathies for Agent Rosas’ family, as well as for the entire Border Patrol family. I did not know this man personally. But I too patrolled the same area – North of Tecate, Mexico when I was in the Service. Right away, the memories of all those hills, valleys, canyons, and crossings came flooding back. It can’t really be known what happened out there that night – but what I do I know, and what I can say with confidence is that this man did his job honorably, and that he made the ultimate sacrifice that night. I pray that his family, his friends and his fellow Agents will be able to take some solace, or have their grief dampened by the thought that his death was not in vain. He was a soldier, a warrior – charged with the responsibility of securing our Nation’s border. He gladly took on this responsibility and risked his life daily without complaint. I am at a loss for further words, other than to once again wish his family my most sincere condolences. Your husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, BPA classmate, friend – whoever Robert was to you – was a hero.
Humbly,
Sean P. Foley
