Marc:
Never in a million years would anyone expect this to happen to you. Unfortunately your untimely demise was caused by a cowardly individual who couldn’t find the right path for his own life. He had to go and try to take several more lives with him, and unfortunately his chose the brave men and women in the Jersey City Police Department to go to war with. You stepped up to the plate, as you ALWAYS did, and protected not only your fellow officers, but the citizens of Jersey City.
I will always cherish our working relationship and will forever remember the many laughs we shared, when you would visit the radio room while patrolling the East District with Brian Greene. The stories could go on forever, but now the only thing we have is a void that can never be filled. Those memories will forever be etched into my memory. Now it is our turn to step up to the plate and make sure that your family is well taken care of and be there to assist in any way possible. You my friend are a TRUE HERO! You are the epitome of what every police officer should be. Rest in Peace my friend, until we meet again!

The definition of a true Hero is someone who is running INTO a VERY BAD situation when normal people are running AWAY..Not only were you running in but you were the first in line... Even after that you held on and your vital organs are being donated to give someone else life.. I mean you cant get greater then that.. Although it doesnt take away the pain your family is feeling, one day your children will grow up to know what an absolute outstanding individual you were.. RIP hero... Enjoy the peace of heaven you so valiantly earned...

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

TO "ACHIEVE THE HONORABLE" YOU HAVE TO BE: IN THE ARENA "IT IS NOT THE CRITIC WHO COUNTS: NO THE MAN WHO POINTS OUT HOW THE STRONG MAN STUMBLES OR WHERE THE DOER OF DEEDS COULD HAVE DONE BETTER. THE CREDIT BELONGS TO THE MAN WHO IS ACTUALLY IN THE ARENA, WHOSE FACE IS MARRED BY DUST AND SWEAT AND BLOOD, WHO STRIVES VALIANTLY, WHO ERRS AND COMES UP SHORT AGAIN AND AGAIN, BECAUSE THERE IS NO EFFORT WITHOUT ERROR OR SHORTCOMING, BUT WHO KNOWS THE GREAT ENTHUSIASMS, THE GREAT DEVOTIONS, WHO SPENDS HIMSELF FOR A WORTHLY CAUSE; WHO, AT THE BEST, KNOWS, IN THE END, THE TRIUMPH OF HIGH ACHIEVEMENT, AND WHO, AT THE WORST, IF HE FAILS, AT LEAST HE FAILS WHILE DARING GREATLY, SO THAT HIS PLACE SHALL NEVER BE WITH THOSE COLD AND TIMID SOULS WHO KNEW NIETHER VICTORY NOR DEFEAT."
